1. Acceptance
By creating an account on Scoop Socials, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to the app, website, and all related services. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will notify you as described in Section 11.
2. Eligibility
Scoop is for users 13 years old and older. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.
Users under 18 may not access age-restricted features. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will disable and delete the account.
3. Honest reviews
Scoop is built on trust. You agree to post only honest reviews based on genuine personal experience with the person you are reviewing. Fabricated, misleading, paid, coordinated, retaliatory, or malicious reviews are prohibited and may result in content removal or account suspension.
The following are prohibited:
- Reviews not based on genuine personal interaction
- Paid or incentivized reviews
- Coordinated or bulk reviews targeting the same person
- Retaliatory reviews posted in response to a review you received
- Posting multiple reviews about the same person to manipulate their Trust Score
4. Identity
You agree to provide accurate account information and not impersonate another person or create an account using false or misleading identity information.
Scoop may suspend accounts that show false identity signals.
5. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Scoop to harass, threaten, or harm others; to spread misinformation; to spam or manipulate the review system; or to violate any applicable law or regulation. The following are also prohibited:
- Scraping or automated data collection
- Reverse engineering the platform
- Evading moderation or account suspensions
- Creating duplicate or sockpuppet accounts
- Using bots or automation
- Unlawful collection of other users’ personal information
- Interfering with Trust Score or review integrity
6. Content ownership
You retain ownership of the content you submit, but grant Scoop Socials a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting and display, publicly display, distribute, and otherwise use your content as necessary to operate, improve, and promote the platform, enforce our policies, and comply with law.
You represent that you have all rights needed to post the content you submit and that your content does not violate the rights of any third party.
Scoop may remove content that violates these Terms or the Code of Conduct.
7. Trust Score
The Trust Score is a computed metric based on your activity and the reviews you receive. It is generated by automated systems and may change over time.
It may be based on activity, reviews received, and verification status, and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
The Trust Score is not a guarantee of truth, safety, or character and should not be the sole basis for any decision.
See Section 6a of our Privacy Policy for information about AI-powered content moderation.
8. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. If you no longer have access to the app, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete My Account.” Email requests are processed within 30 days. See our Data Deletion page for the categories of data deleted and categories retained.
Deletion removes your account profile and associated platform data, subject to legal retention obligations and limited retention of certain records for safety, compliance, and abuse-prevention purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
Reviews other users wrote about you may remain visible on the platform with your identifying link removed. Moderation records and enforcement logs may be retained per the Privacy Policy.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or applicable law, or if your conduct poses a risk to the platform or other users. Where practicable, we will provide notice before suspension or termination.
You may appeal a termination by contacting [email protected].
Certain content, including reviews with your identifying link removed, may remain after termination as permitted by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
10. Limitation of liability
Scoop Socials is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the platform or content posted by others.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the platform shall not exceed the greater of the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by applicable law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Revised Terms will carry a new effective date.
We will notify users of material changes to these Terms via in-app notification before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, where permitted by law.
The Code of Conduct may be updated separately from these Terms. Material changes to the Code of Conduct will be announced via in-app notice.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Code of Conduct, these Terms govern.
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct describes what constitutes a good or bad post, how the flagging and peer review system works, and what consequences apply to violations. The Code of Conduct is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The Code of Conduct may be updated independently from these Terms. The current version is always available at /code-of-conduct.
If there is any conflict between the Code of Conduct and these Terms, these Terms govern.
